Charles M. West is an Emmy-nominated Director of Photography, executive producer, director, and writer working across film, television, and animation. Based in Atlanta, he is the founder of CW Studios and leads WESTVILLE MEDIA’s original productions.

His experience includes work associated with HBO, Showtime, BET, CBS, NBC, The CW, PBS, TV One, Hulu, and Georgia Public Broadcasting, alongside projects for NIKE, Volkswagen, Ford, AT&T, YouTube Kids, and the White House.

A defining creative partnership was his friendship and collaboration with legendary actor John Amos, who served as executive producer and voice performer on Nubbin & Friends. West’s projects have also involved E.G. Daily, Loretta Devine, Jasmine Guy, Gary Owen, Angie Stone, and Lisa Wu.

His work includes the Emmy-nominated My Real Life episode featuring Drea Kelly and Park Clinic, winner of Best Animation at Nashville IBFF in 2026. His animated project The Empty Chair inspired an initiative supporting children and families navigating separation and family transition.

Born in Naples, Texas, and raised in Dallas, West combines a background in cinematography, music, and broadcasting with a commitment to stories that entertain, connect emotionally, and leave an impact beyond the screen.
